"Global Jewish Voices" at Bush Theatre + The Book "Global Jewish Plays"
|
In late 2021 Stav served on the Consulting & Reading Panel of "Global Jewish Voices", a highly-competitive selection of contemporary International plays from Jewish playwrights around the world, chaired by queer theatre-maker Victor Esses.
147 plays were submitted for this opportunity, and Stav's dramaturgical expertise was called upon to help select the finalists: five plays in total. Excerpt readings from the selected plays were performed at a live event at The Bush Theatre in April 2022. |
- In 2024, the five plays Stav helped curate were collected and published in a book from Bloomsbury Publishing: Methuen Drama, under the title "Global Jewish Plays": exploring diverse Jewish experiences through the lens of international playwrights. The Book Launch took place at The Bush Theatre that year.
- The collection was praised for its originality and its exploration of social and political issues rarely seen on stage. Reviews highlighted the collection's value in showcasing the multiplicity of Jewish narratives and its contribution to discussions about Jewish identity, cultural heritage, and social issues.
